Search for Kurtz

Directed by Derek Jones, first shown on Channel Four and now available on DVD from the History Channel

This film tells the remarkable true story of Anthony Pospheny aka., Tony Po, the American soldier operating a highly irregular, unorthodox and brutal insurgency unit in Laos during the Vietnam war.

Tony Po was the real life inspiration for Francis Ford Coppola's "Heart of Darkness" character, Colonel Kurtz, played by Marlon Brando, in the film "Apocalypse Now".

Presented by Sunday Times journalists Cathy Scott Clark and Adrian Levy
